Discovery Day Classes Offered
Saturday, February 21, 2026 Sew Together Bag
Gail Reinke will teach us how to make a Sew Together Bag to hold your sewing and quilting essentials. You may have made one a few years ago when she taught this via Zoom during Covid. You don’t need much fabric for this, and there are 3 zippered compartments. The pattern is available online at https://quiltingbookspatternsandnotions.com/collections/sew-demented-quilt-patterns ($12).
The class is full.
Saturday, March 21, 2026 Bargello Flag
Gail Ghiozzi will teach us how to make a bargello flag. She shared several of her lovely quilts as a featured speaker in 2025, and many of you saw this amazing flag and asked for a class. Signps will begin at the next Guild meeting.
Saturday, April 18, 2026 Teacups
Peggie Wormington will guide us in paper piecing this cute set of teacups. You may have seen this at our quilt show since Peggie was our featured quilter.
Sunday, May 17, Two Bags
Beth Donley will teach two easy bags. One is the gift card holder
bag that she made for the last tea party. Each of these take about
two hours to make. More info to come.
Sunday, July 19, The Mondo Bag
Gail Reinke will teach the Mondo Bag, which involves ironing 2 1/2” squares to an interfacing grid to quickly create the patchwork. The pattern is a free download, and you can buy the interfacing at Walmart or Amazon. This will be a fun and useful project! Signup at the next guild meeting. .
Saturday, August 15, 2026 9-Patch Pizazz
Carol Vierra will use Judy Sisneros' book, 9-Patch Pizzaz, to guide us through which design would be the best for our fabric choices. This is her “go to” pattern because it can accommodate large prints and various design options. She had several examples in our last guild show. The book can be purchased at Thrift Books for about $5 or via other online stores.
Saturday, September 12, 2026 Garden Party
Joan Sampson will teach a portion of the Garden Party Laura Heine pattern. In one day, we will only be able to get a good start on what you could make into a wall hanging or table runner, or you could complete the remaining sections of the quilt on your own. There will be special items to purchase for this class.
