News and Current Events
Our guild meets at the Auburn Veterans Memorial Hall, 100 East Street, Auburn. If you can't find parking in the lot behind the hall, we have permission to park in the parking lot across the street from us on East Street.
UPCOMING MEETINGS:
At our September 14 guild meeting we welcome Diana Karna of Stitching Style Quilted Coats. She will also be teaching a quilted coat the next day, September 15. You will end the day with a fitted quilted jacket.
NEW MEMBER LUNCH
New members are invited to attend our New Member Lunch before the September meeting. September 14, 11am in the downstairs room at the Veterans Hall. Contact: Nancy Vossos
BUNCO:
Our 4th Annual Bunco event will be on Saturday, October 24. Cost: $25. For more information, see our Activity Page.
SKILL BUILDING PROGRAM:
Based on member survey results, quarterly Skill Building events will be held, in addition to our Program Speaker workshops and Discovery Days. The new Skill Building program won’t necessarily be project oriented, although projects might be used to teach or review particular skills. There will be some classes and some topics will be covered with demos before a general meeting. More information is on the Activities page.
QOV PROJECT FOR 2027:
We are challenging members to make Quilts of Valor (QOV) quilts for a special display at our 2027 Quilt Show. The guild may be able to support your efforts by providing patterns and possibly some fabrics or panels. See our Quilts of Valor section for the timeline and more information, including the requirements for a QOV and guidelines for the project.
MEMBERSHIP:
Our membership year begins July 1, although we welcome new members all year round. The membership form can be found here.
SIT 'N' SEW:
Our next Sit 'n' Sew Day will be Thursday, September 17. More information is on our Activities page.
DAY CAMP:
Our next Day Cam is scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, October 15-18. More information is on our Activities page.
ZEPHYR QUILT CAMP:
Quilt Camp at Zephyr is scheduled for May 16-21, 2027 - hopefully no snow this time! The cost per person, double occupancy, is $695. We will start taking applications at our July 20 guild meeting. You need the application and a deposit check for $347. More information is on our Activities page.
QUILT SHOW:
Our next quilt show will be in April 2027.

WE'RE DOING GREAT GETTING MEMBER PICTURES!
We have pictures of about 2/3 of our members on the Members Only page. If you're not there, we try to take pictures at meetings - or if you have a picture you like, email (colleenvoet@gmail.com) or text (916-390-2272) it to Colleen Voet. (If you text, be sure she knows who you are.)
FABRIC DONATIONS:
We welcome donations of quilting fabric, notions, and tools. Fabric that is 100% cotton is what we need for quilts for our Community Service projects -
BOARD MEETINGS:
Board Meetings are held on Zoom on the 4th Monday of the month, starting at 4:00pm. All committee chairs are members of the Board. All members are welcome to attend Board meetings and are sent a reminder and the Zoom login a day or two before the meeting.
