Victoria Johnson is a certified Judy Niemeyer instructor who has specialized training in teaching Judy Neimeyer’s complicated and beautiful paper-pieced patterns.
She didn’t come by that easily - in fact, for years she resisted learning how to paper piece.
Victoria has a long history of, and love for sewing. In junior high she officially learned to sew, and began making all her own clothes plus specialty items for her siblings. In high school, she worked sewing dome backpacking tents and became a journeyman seamstress in
May 15 Workshop: Prickly Pine Tree Tree Skirt / table topper
an upholstery shop.
As an adult, she took her first quilting class and began sewing shop samples for her local quilt store. The shop owner kept telling her she needed to make a Mariner’s Compass but still she resisted. She finally found a beautiful bed and breakfast in Tennessee that catered to quilters. She thought it would be a wonderful place to take a class so she signed up and found the class being taught was a Mariner’s Compass from a Judy Niemeyer instructor. She decided it must have been destiny.
Her talk to the guild will be a trunk show.
