Speakers & Workshops: Judy Mathieson
Join us September 14, 2009, for our own Judy Mathieson who will entertain us with her "Moving to Sebastopol."A move from Los Angeles to Sebastopol in 1996 brought many changes to Judy’s life. The landscape of beautiful Sonoma County, with its redwoods, apple orchards, and vineyards, offered fresh inspiration. The resident sheep and Judy’s beloved border collies presented new themes for her work. This program (new in 2008) includes a slide show of award-winning quilts and a trunk show of 10-15 quilts.
Shadowed Circles Workshop
September 15, 2009, 10 pm - 4 pm
This stunning project features an arrangement of nine circles, each “resting in the arms “ of its shadow. You’ll learn to isolate a special portion of each fabric, baste the fabric to a freezer paper circle using an iron, and create the dark-value shadow. The background is composed of half-square triangles; you can add a plain border or one made of triangles. The pattern for a 28-inch wall hanging is included. All skill levels are welcome.
