Jane Haworth is coordinating the guild’s 2022 Opportunity Quilt - and needs help from members in making blocks. Here’s the plan:
Whileweare"shelteringinplace"andspendingmoretimeat home I thought this was the perfect time for the guild to approachthisopportunityquiltasacommunityproject
I hope members will join me in making house blocks that we will join together into a large quilt.
We will be using Pat Sloan's Village pattern, that I downloaded for free at the fatquartershop.com website.
The instructions use charm squares but you don't have to. Theblock’sfinished sizeis 5½"x7". Wewillneed150+blocks The house can have a chimney or no chimney as described in theinstructions.
When making blocks using our own fabrics to keep the quilt harmonious, it's important to pay attention to my color guide
The guidelines for color
The background or sky needs to be a light blue, pale gray, or light neutral fabric.
The houses, door and roof need to be similar to the picture I have attached. Brights in blues, greens, purple, red, yellow. It does not need to be Kaffe fabrics but think of his bright, jewel colored palette.
